———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

We are already at Week 14 of an NFL season that has simply flown by, and this week our weekly salary cap leagues take us to DraftStreet.

If you recall, this site uses a $100,000 salary cap and the roster consists of 2 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLEX and 1 DST. We always fill the FLEX positions with running backs, so that means four running backs for us. This site gives four points for touchdown passes and 0.5 points per reception, so quarterbacks are less valuable.

We don’t splurge on elite quarterbacks, opting for value and upside instead. We were able to afford two stud running backs and we feel we got good value on the other two that we filled our FLEX positions with. Here’s my lineup for Week 14.

QB – Colin Kaepernick, SF ($12,837) Kaepernick can always be started as long as he remains this cheap because of his running ability. He had a nice 84 rushing yards in the loss to the Rams last week to go along with 208 passing yards

QB – Jay Cutler, CHI ($10,671) Speaking of good value at the price, Cutler has looked fine in his two games since returning from a concussion, the first of which was vs. the Minnesota team he faces now where he completed 23-of-31 for 188 yards when not really asked to do much with a big lead.

RB – Arian Foster, HOU ($15,215) This is where going cheap elsewhere really pays off as we were able to afford possibly the best running back in football after he was limited to 14 carries last week to have him primed vs. a New England defense allowing 4.8 yards per carry the last four games.

RB – Marshawn Lynch, SEA ($13,604) This is the second running back stud we were able to afford by going for value in other areas. Lynch averaged 4.6 yards on his 19 carries vs. the Bears and is now facing an Arizona defense that allowed 177 rushing yards to the Jets.

WR – Marques Colston, NO ($11,243) The Saints have a lot of weapons but Colston is still getting most of the targets and the Giants allowed Pierre Garcon to get 108 receiving yards.

WR – Danario Alexander, SD ($7,657) This is perhaps the best value in the entire draft as Alexander in now the number one receiver for the Chargers after another 102 receiving yards vs. Cincinnati. He has 25 receptions for 406 yards and three touchdowns in the last four games.

TE – Scott Chandler, BUF ($5,452) We like to go cheap on tight ends and Chandler has six touchdowns and is averaging 13.0 yards per reception.

FLEX – Alfred Morris, WAS ($10,669) Morris continues to carry cheap price tags every week despite amazing production for a rookie. He had 124 rushing yards vs. the Giants and Baltimore’s struggles vs. the run should get worse with Terrell Suggs out.

FLEX – Darren Sproles, NO ($9,744) Yes, Sproles has not had one carry in his two games back, but he does have 12 receptions and 18 targets.

DST – Tennessee Titans ($2,709) We like to go cheap on defenses and honestly the Titans were the best we could afford after filling the rest of our slots.

Total Salary: $99,801
